Canva Collage

Canva Reflection
Canva is a fairly basic collage making program that I could use with photography or design students for creating mood boards for projects. It has some nice little premade design layouts and benefits from being a web based platform as far as saving work but lacks the deeper tools needed more in depth design work. While it does provide the benefit of being easy to jump into, with drag and drop style use, I would caution using it for anything other than quick mock-ups of imagery or small presentations. If you were wanting to create some nice looking designs without access to any sort of professional design software Canva seems to be capable of producing nice final products but the difficulty of getting there would keep me away from it as any sort of long term solution. In particular,l I found selection of elements and general navigation to be imprecise and frustrating, the resizing of image frames difficult, and element alignment tools lacking any sort of depth. The pay-to-play aspects of it are expensive and overwhelming once you have moved past basic design. Considering that it seems to lack even the functionality of Google Slides, much less Keynote as far as presenting software, and is nowhere near any of the Adobe products for design, I’m not sure it would be a go-to platform for me unless I was in a situation where I lacked access to those tools.
